Privacy Policy — Metronome IKI

Iki Records (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Metronome IKI mobile application (the “App”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

Summary

We do not sell your data.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
All your musical creations stay on your device. They are never sent to any server.
We use a server-side proxy (Supabase) to forward images from the “Scan AI” feature to Google Gemini. Images are processed transiently and are not stored.
We use Apple StoreKit for subscriptions. Billing, receipts and renewals are handled entirely by Apple.
Optionally, we may use Sentry for crash reporting in a future release (anonymized stack traces, no PII).

Data We Collect and Why

1. Locally stored on your device only

BPM, time signatures, sound assignments, presets, playlists, arrangements
Sound configuration, saved scenes

This data is stored in UserDefaults on your device and is never transmitted to us.

2. Sent to third-party AI processing (only when you use “Scan AI”)

The photo you choose (scores, setlists) is sent through our Supabase Edge Function to Google Gemini Vision API for analysis.
The response (extracted BPM, time signature, clave pattern, etc.) is returned to the App.
We do not store the image or the analysis result on our servers.

3. Microphone access (only when you actively use Mic Tempo / Tuner)

Audio is processed locally on your device for BPM detection and tuner analysis.
Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted off-device.

4. Purchases

Subscription and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple StoreKit.
We only receive a verified boolean: “is the user subscribed or not”.

5. Crash reports (Sentry, optional — future release)

If enabled in a future release, the App may send anonymized crash stack traces to Sentry to help us fix bugs. No personal information is included.

Permissions Requested

Microphone (NSMicrophoneUsageDescription): required for Mic Tempo BPM detection and Tuner.
Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription): required to take photos of scores for the Scan AI feature.
Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): required to import existing photos for Scan AI.
Bluetooth (NSBluetoothAlwaysUsageDescription): required for external MIDI devices (Pro feature).

Data Retention

Device-local data: stored indefinitely until you delete the App.
Scan AI requests: no retention on our Supabase proxy (forwarded to Google and returned). Google may retain transiently per their own policy.
Purchase records: held by Apple per their policy. We only cache a local “isPro” boolean.

Your Rights

You can at any time:

Delete the App to wipe every piece of local data.
Manage or cancel your subscription: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Request access to the data we process: contact us via the email below (though, as per the above, we store very little server-side).

Children

Metronome IKI is suitable for all ages but not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the last update. Material changes will be communicated in-app via the release notes.
